Moving to Somerset
Moving to Somerset…
…hasn’t been very conducive to my photography.
Having moved to Somerset, my photography has been somewhat put on ice. Partly because renovating and decorating is a time-sink, but partly because I just haven’t seen much around me that I’ve wanted to photograph.
Not all the architecture is Georgian
Anyone who knows the area knows that I’m clearly just being incompetent, Somerset is a beautiful area that should be a photographer’s dream, but for some reason I can’t see what I’m supposed to be photographing yet.
In the Ribble Valley it was simple :-
The rolling hills of the Pennines + Vast Swathes of fields/trees/water + clouds = Photograph
Where as typing ‘Photos of N.E. Somerset’ into Google returns some drab Georgian architecture and some naff canal boats. I’m of course being melodramatic, the Mendip Hills - Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - sits 20 minutes down the road, Cranbourne Chase and the Cotswolds are both within driving distance and the whole of South Wales are easily in reach of a day trip!
So here’s hoping that writing this down, in my rather forlorn looking blog, might guilt me into chasing beautiful images around once again…!
